Well, of course we have many happy days, but now we will have more because Lina is here! This morning Walter put together the trundle bed and I did a few odds and ends and then we left for Dallas. We left early enough to have time to eat lunch before going to the airport, so we went to one of our favorite Indian places and had some fabulous beef curry. When I chatted with the owner before we left, I found out he is from Tanzania!
We got to the airport in plenty of time and then had to wait for what seemed like a very long time. Finally our daughter walked through the doors and we could welcome her back to Texas! Oh, what joy!
On the way home we stopped at Buc-ee’s for gas and also because we wanted Lina to experience Buc-ee’s. We didn’t hang around though as we were all anxious to get home.
It was too bad that Walter had to head right out again for work after we got home, but Lina had fun opening all the packages that had come for her and then we had hot dogs for supper. I don’t know why, but hot dogs are the default supper for milestone occasions in our family.
We had a quiet evening visiting with Lina and she was a champ for staying awake after being up for almost 24 hours.
